Three things you should know about the Flu Vaccine
  1. You cannot get the flu from the flu vaccine, there is no live virus in the vaccine.
  2. The flu vaccine is safe for pregnant women at all stages of pregnancy.
  3. The make up of the flu vaccine changes every year to cover the different strains of the constantly-mutating virus.
When is the best time to be vaccinated?

Flu season in Australia is typically the period from June to September, peaking in August. Mid April to May is considered the best month to get your shot as the flu vaccine may begin to wear off after 3 to 4 months.
